inspire others, be inspired

Elyssa Cohen

UX/UI Designer & Photographer

I’m excited to announce that I have joined the UX design team at CVS Health Digital Innovations Lab located in Boston as a Senior user experience designer. During this challenging time in human history it is more important than ever to put our best foot forward in serving and helping others achieve superior health and wellness. I am grateful to work on a dedicated team who works tirelessly to tailor the CVS digital experience to helping people on their path to better health.

Within this role, I have the unique opportunity to lead the UX design and strategy during all aspects of the product development life-cycle in a lean, agile environment. This work will be conducted by collaborating with specialists in user research, accessibility, content strategy, and visual design to support digital product features for CVS Health’s online Pharmacy and health digital tools.

At CVS Health, we work every day to help people on their path to better health. Never has it been more important for us to deliver on our purpose to you, our valued customers, patients, members and employees.

Elyssa’s Motto: Love life. Take pictures of everything. Tell people you love them. Do things that scare you. Take your life and make it the best story in the world. Don’t waste it.

My Journey to UX/UI Design

Architecture & Interior Photographer turns UX Designer

A story of how my work as a photographer directly translates to User Experience Design

We were asked to tell a story of an era through accurate representation.

Built in 1911, the Flagship Restaurant transformed from being Ambrose Webster’s art school to the famous restaurant where Anthony Bourdain began his career.

My photography process and how it relates to UX Design:

  • Learn how the client would like to represent the home/space
  • Research history of the home/space
  • Utilize Google Earth to find the direction of light at location
  • Create shoot plan with time and date of shoot
  • Budget and prioritize shots list
  • Create a timeline for the day of the shoot
  • Orchestrate and photograph the home/space
  • Post produce the priority shots and send first iterations
  • Make adjustments if necessary and send for approval
  • Edit second iterations and send to client
